Rimmel Keep Calm Tinted Lip Balm Collection

Hey Beautybots,
Yep we are back to posting! Recently Rimmel have produced a new line of tinted lipbalms in an attempt to dupe the Maybelline Baby Lips. But the questions is - does it achieve that? and how are they as a product?!

How are they as a Lip Balm?

The Lip Balms as themselves are great and we prefer to apply lip balms before going to bed which is a great way for your lips to be nourished for when we get up. It seems to do the job pretty well. Maybe nothing to hype about for that one factor however after a thorough use the product does itself justice. If you do struggle with cracked or sore lips then it does work well to sooth and nourish. Although it may not be the best lip balm ever it still does the job. What is your Favorite Lip Balm?

What is the Colour Range?

The line comes in various shades, like for example Keep and Calm and Rock which is the Berry Blush shade that actually applies lighter than you would expect (although only slightly) so be wary of that when you purchase (always swatch the tester first!). Keep Calm and Rock is the one that me (Sister Bird) and Mummy Bird purchased and so far it is safe to say that we are pleased with the result. However talking about the product as a collection the lip balms are in a pink-purple set including Keep Calm and Shop that is a very light pink compared to the darkest shade which is Keep Calm and Party being a bold purple for the more adventurous type. Altogether they tint your lips well and after applying at around 11am it is still visible a few hours later.

How does it compare to Maybelline Baby Lips?

As said above the Rimmel Keep Calm is a dupe for the Maybelline Baby Lips in our opinion so therefore it is important to discuss the matter of how it compares. To start of with the look is very similar and it is packaged in the same way. It is great how both set have clear collections with standard name like Baby Lips part of the "Baby" set that they are doing. It is also great however that Rimmel have incorporated the "in" Keep Calm slogan and have come up with creative names that match the colour and maybe when you would use such a colour. As a lip balm they both do the same job, although we are more leaning towards Baby Lips as you get more in each product and therefore it lasts longer if you use it everyday. On the factor of nourishing though they are quite evenly matched but Maybelline may be a small inch ahead. A weird factor to call this one to a close is the smell - we have to admit that the Baby Lips smell amazing each one having a distinct smell. That however in our opinion can't be said for the Keep Calm Collection although they smell amazing they just do not compare to the fabulous smell of Baby Lips. Although you do not go around smelling lip balms normally we just wanted to stress about the smells as they are truely great. This factor combined with other leads us to suggest that Maybelline Baby Lips are the better collection however that is not to say that the Rimmel is bad as it is slightly cheaper to do a good job.

Where do I get them From and How much do they Cost?

If you are in the UK or NI then you can get these pretty easily from the common beauty retailers including Boots and Superdrug for the cheap price of £2.99. Which is a great deal for what you get! However if you live anywhere else you can order it online to be delivered.

Will you be ordering yours now?
